Last year we began offering a new service for Literary Criticism. Knowing the difficulty of mastering all of the information from the Handbook, we made available an on-line practice for Part I preparation. This year we are collaborating with Bonnie Crisp of LitCrit Master to provide even more games and activities.
This year we are going to offer some CI&E materials on-line as well. Early in the year there will be activities with lists of people, places, etc., that the students need to learn. As we move into invitational season, we will add invitational tests or quizzes to the web page for additional practice.
On-line materials may be ordered separately or as a money-saving package with the regular Literary Criticism and CI&E materials. |

Current Issues & Events Get a 12-test subscription beginning in late September and continuing through early April (the cutoff for the State contest). Tests 1-11 are in the UIL-format and contain 40 multiple-choice questions and an essay. Each test is accompanied by an answer key and suggestions for the essay. Test 12 will have 60 questions and 2 essays. Remember to check out the on-line practice. |

Literary Criticism These materials consist of a 5-test set of tests in the UIL-format for Parts I, II, and III. Tests include questions from the Handbook as well as from the 2008-09 reading list. Don’t forget the on-line practice for Part I. Response last year was very positive. Coaches said it made studying that material more fun and less painful for their students. |

Social Studies This will be the 7th year for us to offer Social Studies materials. A set consists of 5 tests following the UIL-format as closely as possible. Each test will include questions from the reading list and materials chosen for 2008-09. Feedback was positive last year as we added a new test writer, Craig Gourley. If you tried us before and were disappointed, please consider giving MRC another chance to help your students prepare for the Social Studies contest. |

Journalism 2008-09 will be our 4th year to offer Journalism prompts. These are written by an experienced coach with prior state meet competitors. A set includes 6 prompts for each of the contests—a total of 24 prompts. Sets 1-3 are also available if you need extra practice. Last year Deloris conducted an early spring mail-in contest. Response and feedback were positive, so this year she plans to add a fall contest. For information, contact her at 940-727-2431 or dglenn8@gmail.com. |

Accounting If finding time to meet with your kids to explain why they missed certain questions on a practice test you’ve given them or problems getting copies of past UIL tests, we have a solution for you. Our Accounting materials include copies of all UIL tests and answer keys for the set ordered. In addition, we provide solution sets with explanations for every question on every test. These are prepared by Patsy Rich, a long-time coach, and other coaches have found her materials very helpful. If you really need more practice material, check out our Value Packs. |

Invitational materials With sufficient notice, we also provide invitational tests and prompts for all these contests. Please call or email—before you order—if you are interested. We cannot always produce “instant” invitationals. |
