MRC Enterprises opened for business in 1991 when educators Matt and Ruthie Chalmers began supplying practice materials to schools to help prepare students for the UIL Current Issues & Events contest.  In 1993, Literary Criticism materials were added.  Craig Gourley joined the company in 2007 to write Social Studies materials.  This year, Craig and his wife Terresa, both teachers, will be managing MRC. We are also excited to have Cindy Berry to produce journalism materials for MRC, Myrna Sam in Literary Criticism, and Glenda Picha to conduct our mail-in Ready Writing contests.

At MRC, we are all teachers (or retired teachers). ​ We know how hard you work and what a challenge it can be to help students prepare for UIL competitions.  That's why we do the research...hours upon hours of research...and strive to create materials that will prepare your UIL teams for success.
